Calling All Book Clubs! How Do You Choose Your Books?

Filed under: Calling All Book Clubs — susanbright @ 10:42 am

At The Friday Morning Bookclub it is a group decision. From time to time we vote via our blog and let all of our blogger friends help us decide, sometimes we do an informal vote by email and other times someone brings up a book at one of our meetings which sounds so good that we decide to read it on the spot.

Tell us about your book club…how do you choose your books?

What Would It Take To Make YOU Comment?

Filed under: Calling All Book Clubs,The Friday Morning Book Club — susanbright @ 7:14 pm

I am sure there have been hundreds of studies and lots of statistics as to how many people visit a blog vs the number of people who comment. Believe it or not we have had over 9,000 visits and over 18,000 page views from all over the world. We have had bloggers visit us from close to every state in the U.S. as well as from Italy, Spain, Germany, Amsterdam,Virgin Islands and Canada to name a few! We love when you log on and would love to hear what you are reading, so next time you visit, feel free to vote on our polls and let us know your thoughts.  Are you in a book club? Do you have a kindle? Have you read anything really good lately? Take the leap! Comment!

What is Next?

Filed under: Calling All Book Clubs,Moloka'i,What is next?? — susanbright @ 6:35 pm

It looks like the decision was made at this weeks meeting to read Moloka’i by Alan Brennert for July. It has been  highly recommended by several of our bloggers. The story sounds fascinating and different from anything we have read so far.  Thank you for your recommendations and please keep them coming. We love to hear what other people/book clubs are reading.

Calling All Book Clubs

Filed under: Calling All Book Clubs — susanbright @ 10:04 am

I am sure that most of us will agree that email has really changed our lives. Every morning I look forward to checking my messages. It has made business so  much more efficient. After all you can leave a message for someone and get a response without any hassle. No more phone tag! It has also made it so easy to keep in touch with friends and family no matter where they live. I have recently been emailing with a few of my college friends after not having contact with them for over 25 years. One of my friends, Sarah lives in St Croix and is also in a book club.  When she emailed me a list of the books her book club is reading I was suprised to see many familiar titles. Their list included Sarah’s Key and People of the Book as well as may other books we have either read or are considering reading. Audrey’s friend in Arizona is in a Book Club and they too are reading many of the same books.

We would love to hear a little about your book club , what you are reading and how you choose your books!
