Life In The Time Of Corona

These last couple of weeks have been unlike any our generation has ever lived through before.  In a matter of days all of our lives have been turned upside down.  Social Distancing has become the new way of life. We are having our groceries delivered to our door and are wearing gloves to open our packages. We are working from home, cancelling group meetings of all kinds and spending more time alone than in the past. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring or when all of this will end.

What better time could there be to revitalize this blog? We may not be able to meet in person to discuss our monthly book at this time but there is no reason we can’t continue to share our thoughts and opinions. We need each other more than ever.

In the coming weeks I hope to share book reviews from some of our members. If you would like to try your hand at writing a review please email me at Susan@Fridaymorningbookclub.com

We would love to hear what you are reading. Is there a book you would like to recommend? Your comments are always welcomed and appreciated!

  1. Susan – I think of you every time I try to knit Continental style! I’m glad to see you’re ok. Yoga is closed for the time being so I’m knitting a sweater and reading “A Gentleman in Moscow” which I love – even a couple pages makes all my worries go away. I managed to get my husband Tom to attend yoga – he and Stan are both cycling fans so they get along pretty well. Do you still see MJ? Say hi for me and stay well…… nancy

    • Wow, So great to hear from you Nancy! I gave up on Continental knitting a while back! Back to good ole wrapping it around the needle! Haven’t been doing much yoga lately either but I did just talk to M.J and she is doing good. Our book club recently read A Gentleman in Moscow. We were very divided on this book, which is somewhat unusual for our members.. Some thought it was one of the best books they had ever read and others just couldn’t get into it.BTW, I still have your crab cake recipe, although I haven’t attempted making them yet. Crazy times. Stay well and keep in touch!

  2. My book club meeting was also postponed. We are reading Olive Again. Has anyone read it?

    • Welcome Joan. I loved Olive Kitteridge but still have not read Olive Again. I have heard good things about it. Are you enjoying it? Will your book club be attempting a Zoom meeting?
