  1. Beryl Markham’s own book -West With the Night is so much better written. Ernest Hemingway thought she was a great writer. This book is badly written, which makes it hard to care about the plot.

    • Hi Gabi, I knew nothing about Beryl Markham, so I enjoyed reading Circling the Sun, and learning about her life. Had it not been about a real historical figure , I probably would have lost interest.

      • Fair enough. But do give her book a try. It’s interesting trying to figure out what’s true and what’s fiction, and what Markham deliberately left out…
