Andi always wanted children so when she marries Ethan, a divorced man with two children she is thrilled. They would be one happy family!   Little does she know all the problems involved with raising someone else’s children, especially a teen age girl.

Another Piece of My Heart may be considered chic lit but it brings up many relevent topics.  More and more marriages are ending in divorce and “statistics show that approximately one-third of all weddings in America today form step families.” When I think back to when my children were growing up I remember thinking more than once how difficult it must be to raise someone else’s children. There were days when I wanted to disown my own, how could I possibly expect someone else to live with this? And my kids were pretty good! Image marrying into a family with a problem child or just a child having trouble dealing with the break up of their parents!

Jane Green is the author of twelve best sellers. “I’ve always drawn from the themes of my life, and with a blended family myself, I started to look at other blended families, particularly the ones that came with real challenges. I remember reading that once you marry someone with children, you are destroying the myth carried by all children of divorce: that their parents will reconcile.”

Thank you Reading Group Guides and St Martin’s Press for providing us with copies of this thought-provoking and thoroughly discussable book!
