Daisy Goodwin was born in 1961 and is the daughter of film producer Richard B. Goodwin, the producer of Murder on the Orient Express. Her mother named her Daisy after Daisy Buchanan from the Great Gatsby. At the age of 5 her mother left her father for another man and Daisy was sent along with her brother to live with her Grandmother in New Forest, returning to London two years later when her father remarried. She attended Westminster School in London, Trinity College in Cambridge and Columbia Film School. In 1985 Daisy was a trainee arts producer for the BBC and in 1998 was the head of factual programs for Talkback Productions. In 2005 she founded Silver River Productions. She has published eight best-selling poetry anthologies and a memoir entitled Silver River as well as her first novel The American Heiress and is an award-winning British television producer. Daisy Goodwin lives in London with her husband Marcus Wilford an ABC TV executive, and their two daughters.
This month’s book The American Heiress was published in the UK August 2010 under the name My Last Duchess. The American Heiress will be released on June 21, 2011.
