This afternoon I took a Hemingway’s Paris walking tour with my son and husband. I recently read The Paris Wife by Paula McClain and was anxious to see where Ernest Hemingway and his first wife Hadley lived and dined. How cool is that, to be walking down rue Descartes just as the Hemingways did 90 some years ago! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour although I don’t think that my son or husband were very impressed! I stood in front of the door of the first apartment building Ernest and Hadley lived in and walked inside (and took pictures) of the Shakespeare & Company bookstore, a store that Hemingway frequented. It is here that Ernest Hemingway is said to have broken a vase after reading a bad review! If you have not read The Paris Wife, I would highly recommend it. It was a wonderful read!
