Yes, I am in London! Today, after taking a fascinating walking tour of Old Westminster where we not only enjoyed a wonderful lesson on London History ( I never was very good at history), but also saw Big Ben, The House of Parliament and Churchill’s War Rooms to name a few, we happened to stumble upon the local library. Of course, I had to check it out! Whereas the libraries I frequent are large, modern buildings and tend to be full of people, this library was quite different. The books were displayed on old wooden book shelves , the kind that you might find in someones basement and there were only two or three other people perusing the shelves. My husband spent some time in another room reading the newspaper and was joined by several others reading magazines or newspapers and working at computers. Although they were not necessarily old, most of the books appeared to be very well read and almost every one of them had a clear plastic cover, which reminded me of the book covers I used to put on my text books. I did see quite a few familiar authors and titles and after searching without success for this month’s book Unbroken, I asked the librarian for help. Apparently it is in the system, but was out on loan! I hope to check out a Paris Library although I may not recognize any titles and will not be asking any questions. I will however be sure to say Bonjour and Au revoir!

I say we all take up a collection so that Susan can buy her own copy of “Unbroken” and not have to visit a library in every country she is traveling through. BTW, I hear Tora Bora has some neat libraries, but stay away Susan. That’s my twin!

Very cute Eddie! According to my Kindle,I have read 6% of Unbroken. To be totally honest, I am already struggling. I’d rather be reading another magical book by Sarah Addison Allen! My husband and father may be correct…. this just might not be my kind of book, however that is what a book club is all about…. reading books that you would normally not read!
