This month’s book was Abraham Verghese’s Epic story “Cutting For Stone”. The Friday Morning Book Club met today at our usual spot to discuss this book and have a fun book related gift exchange. The general consensus was that most members of our group really liked this book. A few of us thought that it could have told the same wonderful story, but with less medical and other details. Generally though, we found the story very engaging and we loved the depth of the characters.
Below is a video of a book review show from English TV, talking about “Cutting For Stone”. See what the panel thinks of this book and hear an interview with the author.
I thought Cutting For Stone was a fascinating story! I agree that the author could have cut out some of the descriptions etc, however it was definitely worth reading!

I enjoyed this book too! I liked some of the medical details, but yes, he could have cut them down a bit. I’m passing it on to my mom today 🙂
