Mary Sutter is a midwife who dreams of being a surgeon. However it is 1861, a time when it is unheard of for a women to be accepted into Medical School. Our library book discussion group chose this for our Dec. selection. The author’s last name is spelled Oliveira, not Oliviera–I had to check a few times myself.
Just thought you’d appreciate the correction. I, too am enjoying the book.
