Trivia 200

Filed under: Trivia — susanbright @ 11:23 pm

This love story was originally titled First Impressions. Can you name the book?

Thank you Laura! Pride and Prejudice is the correct answer. According to The Literary Network :

“Jane Austen began her second novel, Pride and Prejudice, before she was twenty-one. It was originally titled First Impression because the appearances of the characters created the plot of the novel. However, because the novel is also concerned with the effects of the character’s first impressions, that is their prejudice, Austen found the title Pride and Prejudice more appropriate”

Although a little more challenging read than many of our other book club selections, Pride and Prejudice was definitely worth the extra effort. I absolutely loved this book and am looking forward to reading Sense and Sensibility, also by Austen!
