This was not my favorite bookclub choice. I thought the immigration center where the girls were held and the jungle trek were more interesting than Sarah’s marriage and affair which I found boring. I expected a twist at the end but it never happened.

I really liked the book but agree that the affair and his personality were far fetched and boring…. then she became not believable for consorting with him.
But like molakhi (spell?), the story opened this whole.world of immigration camps that I did know could keep people for years…. and I related in the sense it seemed real that little bee would always be thinking of a quick way out of each new scenario she found herself. … people in those countries are doing horrible things to innocent people.
