Do You Ever Read More Than One Book At One Time?

Filed under: Literary Tidbits — susanbright @ 5:35 pm

I always complete a book before moving on to the next. I like that sense of accomplishment, closing a book for the final time and putting it on my  “Books I Have Read List.”There is almost always a stack of books sitting next to my bed  just waiting to be read. The stack seems to be getting higher and higher these days, and on the very top is this month’s book club selection My Enemy’s Cradle.  I have  only read 65% of Shantaram (according to my kindle), so that means I still have 300 some pages to go. At 900 + pages this is an ambitious read!  Time is running out and  although I hate to do it, I think I am going to have to put down Shantaram and read My Enemy’s Cradle in order to be ready for our next meeting. Shantaram is a beautifully written yet very complex book.  I hope I can get right back into it when I pick it up again.  Do you ever read more than one book at a time?

  1. Susan, I am like you. I like to finish one book first before starting another. But I definitely am falling behind.. the pile seems to just keep growing, and I can’t seem to keep up. But I guess that just means we are lucky that there are so many good books out there.
