What book that The Friday Morning Bookclub read not only took place in Baltimore, Maryland but the tiny city of Owings Mills where several of our members live played a predominate part?

Thank you Janine! Secret Girl by Molly Bruce Jacobs is correct. Molly did not find out that she had a younger sister until she was 13 and did not actually meet her until she was in her 30’s. Her sister Anne was born with Hydrocephalos, also known as water on the brain and because her parents feared that it would be too difficult on the entire family she was institutionalized. At one point Anne lived at the Rosewood State Hospital in Owings Mills. This book is Molly’s memoir and it was apparent from the start that she had a lot of resentment towards her parents because of the decision they made regarding Anne’s living arrangements. This was a thought provoking book and led to a fascination discussion.
I think it is either “By a Spider’s Thread or “Secret Girl”
