because I have no idea! There is no question that reading on a Kindle is not the same as reading a real tangible book. It is not better or worse, just different! Instead of telling you what page I am on, I can proudly announce that I have read 17% of Shantaram, which must mean I have only read about 150 pages, not much considering the book is 900+ pages. No more flipping pages and counting to see how many pages I have to read to finish the chapter, after all who wants to put a book down mid chapter. No more cheating, and peaking ahead to see if a particular character is still “in the picture”. And for those of you that like to read the end of the book first (believe it or not some people do….. ask Joan in our book club), forget it, it is just too much work! On the “flip” side, no more bookmarks or worrying about losing your place. The Kindle remembers exactly where you stopped! I can change the font size with a click of a button. Pretty cool! As my eyes get heavy at night, I just increase the size and keep reading, until my husband told me that the teeny tiny little clicking sound it makes when you turn the page was keeping him up! Oh well. everything has its drawbacks!
