Hotel On The Corner Of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. This is the story of Henry Lee, a Chinese American living in Seatle in 1986. The story switches back and forth between 1986 and the 1940’s when 12 year old Henry’s father insists that he wear a button saying I Am Chinese so he would not be mistaken for being Japanese. A fascinating read!
What are you reading?????????
This sounds like a great book…will have to put it on my list of future reads!! This is when a kindle would be handy….

Hi Mona, Are you reading anything good? What is your book club reading this month?

Well, I just finished Angry Housewives Eating BonBons because the Friday Morning Bookclub read it before I was a member, and people kept recommending it to me. I downloaded it on my kindle. I enjoyed it. A few months ago I read The View from Mount Joy, also by Lorna Landvik, and I really liked that. Now I will start reading The Linnet Bird – this month’s book club selection.
