Jane Austen was born in England on December 16, 1775, She began working on her novel First Impressions in 1796. Jane Austen’s father submitted her manuscript to a London publisher in 1797, but it was rejected. Jane Austen did not give up and continued writing and rewriting her novel, which she shared with her friends and close relatives. In 1805, after the death of her father, Austen stopped writing and did not pick up the manuscript again until 1811. Pride and Prejudice, a revised version of First Impressions was eventually published in 1813.
